Mamà Dots honored at the 15th Florence Biennale 2025

Florence – The 15th edition of the Florence Biennale – International Contemporary Art and Design Exhibition – closed on October 26 at Fortezza da Basso, bringing together over 600 artists from more than 80 countries. Among this year’s distinguished guests was filmmaker Tim Burton, who received the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Lifetime Achievement Award.
In this prestigious setting, the artistic collective Mamà Dots received the President’s Special Commendation for creating a unique visual language that merges tradition with innovation: Pop Pointillism. The technique challenges artificial logic, reaffirming the centrality of the human hand and soul in artistic creation.
Born as a family-based collective — united in life and art — Mamà Dots explores, through painting, the evolving relationship between humans and technology in the age of artificial intelligence. Though their works may appear digitally generated, each is meticulously painted by hand in oil on canvas.
With their groundbreaking style, the collective offers a powerful reminder that, even in a machine-dominated world, the essence of art remains profoundly human.
